Pairing creative flair with technical know-how, Carl Hare is a renowned photographer based in Hampshire. His knowledge of the local area, combined with his wealth of industry experience makes him the perfect guide for this wildlife photography workshop at The Hawk Conservancy Trust in Hampshire.
As well as working as a freelance photographer, Carl is our Experiential Marketing Specialist here at the FUJIFILM School. While his professional roots trace back to weddings, Carl is equally adept at diverse photography styles, including studio portraiture, landscapes, and wildlife photography.
He’s also a dedicated tutor who is keen to share his knowledge and has been delivering photography workshops for nearly 10 years. This, combined with his passion for the outdoors ensures participants have plenty to look forward to in this bird of prey photography workshop.

What will this wildlife photography workshop involve?
Are you an aspiring wildlife photographer? Whether you’re a beginner wishing to take your photographs of birds and birds in flight to the next level or an intermediate photographer hoping to refine your wildlife photography skills, this workshop will provide guidance and hands-on experience.
From aperture, shutter speed, and ISO control, to composition, framing and some basic fieldcraft, you’ll enjoy a day filled with learning and inspiration.

What wildlife photography skills will you learn?
The day will provide a comprehensive grounding in wildlife photography, specialising in moving subjects.
Carl will cover a wide range of techniques and ideas, starting with a recap of basic exposure settings before diving into specifics including fundamental settings, equipment needs, composition and some basic fieldcraft.
For the practical part of the workshop, you will receive picture-taking advice, including:
What kit will you need?
You’re welcome to bring your own set-up. However, we will also provide a selection of the latest FUJIFILM cameras and lenses for you to try.
Photographers travelling lighter are also welcome to borrow 3LeggedThing tripods and Kase filters.

The UK weather is unpredictable, so please ensure you check the weather forecast on the day and pack suitable clothing. Comfortable shoes are recommended, as, although we will have a designated break time to rest, catch up and reset, there will be a lot of walking and time spent outside.
We also suggest bringing a bottle of water and snacks to keep you going.
Activity and mobility
Whilst the Trust is accessible, the workshop will be outside and will require walking between locations. Participants should be mobile enough to be able to get up and down from standing, to sitting, to laying down unaided to get the best photographs of some of the birds.
First aid
Your workshop leader is fully First Aid Trained for outdoor activities and will always carry a full First Aid kit.
Additional information
Unless otherwise stated, tickets for this wildlife photography workshop do not include any expenses, train fares, meals, taxi fares, parking charges, etc.

Terms and Conditions for FUJIFILM School Events
1. Event Confirmation and Minimum Attendance
1.1 Once you have purchased a ticket, your place on the day will be reserved and you will receive a confirmation email.
1.2 FUJIFILM School endeavours to conduct events as scheduled. However, all events are subject to a minimum number of delegates, which is set at three (3) participants.
1.3 In the event that the minimum number of delegates is not met, FUJIFILM School reserves the right to cancel or reschedule the event. Participants will be informed of any such changes at the earliest possible opportunity.
1.4 You need to be at least 18 years of age to take part in this event and a disclaimer form will need to be completed on the day to take part in the day’s activity. In case of emergency on the day, please email fujifilm_schoolUK@fujifilm.com.
2. Adverse Weather Conditions
2.1 Safety is a top priority for FUJIFILM School. If there are adverse weather conditions or official weather warnings that may affect the safety or feasibility of conducting an event, FUJIFILM School reserves the right to cancel or reschedule the event.
2.2 Participants will be notified as soon as possible in the event of cancellation or rescheduling due to weather-related issues.
3. Cancellation and Rescheduling
3.1 If an event is cancelled or rescheduled by FUJIFILM School due to insufficient numbers or adverse weather conditions, participants will be offered the option to transfer their booking to the rescheduled event date, another event, or receive a full refund.
3.2 FUJIFILM School will not be liable for any additional costs incurred by participants due to the cancellation or rescheduling of an event.
4. Participant Cancellations
4.1 Participants wishing to cancel their attendance must provide notice in accordance with FUJIFILM School's cancellation policy to be eligible for a refund or transfer. If circumstances change and you need to cancel your place, please let us know 10 working days before the event and we will be happy to issue you a refund in full. Places cancelled after this time are non-refundable.
5. Communication
5.1 FUJIFILM School will use the contact information provided at the time of booking to communicate any changes or cancellations. It is the participant’s responsibility to ensure that their contact details are current and accurate.
By booking an event with FUJIFILM School, participants acknowledge and agree to these terms and conditions. FUJIFILM School reserves the right to amend these terms and conditions at any time. Participants will be notified of any changes that may affect their booking.
