Half-frame design
Taking extensive inspiration from the age of analogue photography, the X half is modelled on a half-frame camera, utilising a vertically orientated one-inch sensor to create photos and videos in a 3:4 aspect ratio, just like vintage half-frame cameras such as the Fujica Mini.
Weighing just 240g and with a perfectly pocketable design, this compact fixed-lens model is ideal for everyday and travel photography. Its wide-angle lens is suited to a broad range of subjects, while options for manual aperture, focus and exposure open up the X half’s creative potential.
Design notes such as an optical viewfinder (OVF) and the Frame Advance Lever point to the X half’s filmic heritage while adding to a tactile, in-the-moment user experience.

Creative imaging modes
The X half offers the unique ability to create half-frame-inspired diptychs in-camera using the new 2-in-1 mode. You can combine two stills, two movies or one of each to make a single shareable file that’s perfect for blog posts and social media.
In Film Camera mode, the X half reduces distractions for a back-to-basics photography experience. Select a Film Simulation and a roll of film lasting either 36, 54 or 72 images. Once chosen, users are given a simplified UI on the rear screen and use the Frame Advance Lever after every photo. You can enjoy a film camera experience, composing with the optical viewfinder and only seeing the results once the ‘roll’ is completed, and the images have been developed in the X half companion app.

Analogue-inspired photos
The film-like experience doesn’t end with the styling of the camera: with 13 different Film Simulations and 26 vintage-style filters – including LIGHT LEAK, EXPIRED FILM and DOUBLE EXPOSURE – the X half draws on Fujifilm’s rich analogue heritage to evoke a retro aesthetic in both photos and videos.
The X half invites you to find and develop your own visual style – swapping to a new Film Simulation is as easy as swiping the back of the camera. Whether you prefer the saturated tones of VELVIA or the nostalgic feel of CLASSIC CHROME, every photo and video can become a unique expression of your creative vision.
