Encapsulate the warmth and flavour of the festive season with our Christmas Food Photography Masterclass, led by Suze Morrison. This is a hands-on food photography workshop suited for intermediate and advanced level photographers who are confident with their camera and settings, and have a good understanding of the exposure triangle.
Learn how to craft beautifully styled images that capture the joy of festive dining, and learn how to position cinnamon bakes, twinkling table settings, and winter props for the perfect shot every time.
Who will be joining you?
Suze Morrison is a qualified chef, mixologist, food photographer, and IICCT Level 2 Master Chocolate Taster.
Her approach is wonderfully out of the ordinary thanks to her strong academic background in the Biological Sciences. She approaches her work with both scientific precision and aesthetic artistry, with a culinary style inspired by nature’s palette.
Her festive food photography combines warmth and nostalgia to create images that feel timeless, personal, and intimate. When not shooting or developing new recipes, Suze can be found exploring the countryside with her Romanian rescue dog, Peanut.
What can you expect from this workshop?
You’ll learn how to style and shoot dishes that evoke emotion and capture the true essence of Christmas. Suze will guide you through how to infuse each frame with mood, magic, and meaning through guided demonstrations, hands-on practice, and artistic theory.
What you’ll learn
This workshop begins with a gentle exploration of light and how to harness it when conducting festive food photography. You’ll learn how to read a scene, spot the perfect shadows, and understand composition through a storyteller’s lens.
Delve into the secrets of Christmas food styling, evoking emotion, seasonality, and texture. You’ll explore Christmas-themed props, backgrounds, and botanical elements to build rich, layered scenes.
This is where the magic happens. With guided, step-by-step support, you’ll style and shoot a scene using professional techniques covering light, composition, and focus.
Learn how to build narrative cohesion across your shots while staying true to your personal or professional brand.
Suze will also guide you through her post-processing workflow using tools like Capture One, showing you how to achieve her signature look.

Note: Please aim to arrive 15 minutes before your session time. This will allow you to find the meeting point, collect your kit, and introduce yourself to other photographers in the workshop.

What kit will you need?
You’re welcome to bring your own set-up, although a selection of the latest FUJIFILM cameras and lenses will be available on the day. Photographers travelling lighter are also welcome to borrow 3LeggedThing tripods.

First aid
Your workshop leaders are fully First Aid Trained and will always carry a full First Aid kit.

Tickets do not include any expenses, train fares, meals, taxi fares, parking charges, etc unless otherwise stated.
Terms and Conditions for FUJIFILM School Events
1.1 Once you have purchased a ticket, your place on the day will be reserved and you will receive a confirmation email.
1.2 FUJIFILM School endeavours to conduct events as scheduled. However, all events are subject to a minimum number of delegates, which is set at three (3) participants.
1.3 In the event that the minimum number of delegates is not met, FUJIFILM School reserves the right to cancel or reschedule the event. Participants will be informed of any such changes at the earliest possible opportunity.
1.4 You need to be at least 18 years of age to take part in this event and a disclaimer form will need to be completed on the day to take part in the day’s activity. In case of emergency on the day, please email fujifilm_schoolUK@fujifilm.com.
2.1 Safety is a top priority for FUJIFILM School. If there are adverse weather conditions or official weather warnings that may affect the safety or feasibility of conducting an event, FUJIFILM School reserves the right to cancel or reschedule the event.
2.2 Participants will be notified as soon as possible in the event of cancellation or rescheduling due to weather-related issues.
3.1 If an event is cancelled or rescheduled by FUJIFILM School due to insufficient numbers or adverse weather conditions, participants will be offered the option to transfer their booking to the rescheduled event date, another event, or receive a full refund.
3.2 FUJIFILM School will not be liable for any additional costs incurred by participants due to the cancellation or rescheduling of an event.
4.1 Participants wishing to cancel their attendance must provide notice in accordance with FUJIFILM School's cancellation policy to be eligible for a refund or transfer. If circumstances change and you need to cancel your place, please let us know 10 working days before the event and we will be happy to issue you a refund in full. Places cancelled after this time are non-refundable.
5.1 FUJIFILM School will use the contact information provided at the time of booking to communicate any changes or cancellations. It is the participant’s responsibility to ensure that their contact details are current and accurate.
By booking an event with FUJIFILM School, participants acknowledge and agree to these terms and conditions. FUJIFILM School reserves the right to amend these terms and conditions at any time. Participants will be notified of any changes that may affect their booking.
