Happisburgh, Norfolk

Join Dibs McCallum for a photography masterclass on the stunning Norfolk Coast. Balancing expert guidance with hands-on experience, this masterclass explores how to capture the striking pictures of the weatherworn Norfolk Coast and Broads. You’ll learn key techniques, such as long exposures, bracketing, composition, and camera control settings.

You’ll also discover how to utilise filters and tripods for long-exposure photography while exploring critical theories behind crafting impactful images.

From setting up your camera for long exposures to understanding the effects of different ND filters,  and mastering landscape compositions with your Fujifilm system, this photography workshop will empower you to create stunning landscape photographs with confidence and skill.

Who will be joining you?

You will be in the expert hands of Photographer Dibs, who has shot with multiple Fujifilm cameras since 2016 and has a wealth of knowledge about the X and GFX systems being used in the field. He is based in Norfolk, UK and is known for his stunning portrayal of the diverse landscapes of the UK, spanning across both landscapes and seascapes, with a particular focus on the UK coastline.

Dibs, is an experienced photographer and workshop leader based in Norfolk, UK. He comes from a background in Commercial and Events photography. However, since completing his bachelor's and master's degrees in Photography in 2018, his artistic focus has been solely on the genre of landscapes, particularly seascapes, architecture and the erosion of the UK coastline.

What to expect

Designed for intermediate-level photographers, this workshop offers comprehensive instruction and hands-on guidance. While attendees will receive thorough training during the session, a good understanding of the exposure triangle (aperture, shutter speeds, and ISO) would be beneficial. Participants will refine their compositional skills by capturing the aftermath of storms and tidal surges, focusing on the coastline's weathered sea defences.

The workshop will also emphasise long exposure techniques, allowing you to enhance your skills in capturing striking images amidst coastal scenery. We’ll explore two locations, ending the workshop at Thurne Mill to capture the Norfolk broads at sunset.

Photographers travelling lighter are also welcome to borrow 3LeggedThing tripods and Kase filters. We also recommend bringing a shutter release for long-exposure photography.
