The FUJINON XF60mmF2.4 R Macro offers 1:2 (half life-size) reproduction for frame-filling shots of small details. This means subjects will be reproduced at half their actual size on the camera’s sensor. It’s great for capturing subjects, such as insects and flowers, as well as super close-ups of still life or product details.
This compact prime macro lens also doubles as a great general purpose mid-telephoto optic, so it can be used for portraiture and any other occasions when you may wish to isolate details from a subject that’s reasonably close to the camera.
No other lens in the XF range will get closer than the XF60mmF2.4 R Macro. It focuses down to just 0.267m – less than 12 inches – enabling users to capture frame-filling close-ups of smaller subjects. Autofocusing is precise and accurate, plus the lens also features a large manual focusing ring, which can be useful for achieving absolute precision when focusing on close-up subjects
The diaphragm that makes up the aperture in the XF60mmF2.4 R Macro is precisely machined to deliver smooth, circular bokeh (out-of-focus areas). Nine blades are used for an almost perfect circular opening, plus the edges on each blade are rounded off. This delivers both smoothness in the out-of-focus areas and improved sharpness on the main subject.
Just like other lenses in the XF range, the individual lens elements used in the optical construction of the XF60mmF2.4 R Macro are coated with Super EBC. Unique to Fujifilm, Super EBC (which stands for Electron Beam Coating) helps to reduce the chance of light bouncing around inside the lens and creating flare and ghosting, which in turn enhances colour and image sharpness.
To help avoid flare spoiling images, the XF60mmF2.4 R Macro comes supplied with a deep metal lens hood as standard. It uses a bayonet fitting to click positively into place around the front element of the lens.
