Keen to share his wealth of knowledge, Carl has delivered photography workshops for close to a decade. His passion for the outdoors is a constant source of inspiration, and when he can combine it with his teaching skills, there’s simply nothing better – for him and his students.

Join us to photograph a range of magnificent birds of prey. Photograph different species of birds from Owls, Hawks, Eagles, Falcons, Kites and even Pelicans in different settings to vary compositional techniques. This workshop is suitable for those want to learn and understand the basics of how to photograph wildlife and birds of prey. Learn the basic settings to get you started whilst practising your skills with a range of techniques on offer for photographers at a beginner to enthusiast level.
Take this opportunity to get hands on with the X-H2S X Series camera, as well as the XF150-600mm lens plus other Fujinon lenses suitable for wildlife photography. X Series cameras are optimal wildlife photography tools, with the correct settings dialled in. You’re welcome to bring your own system, with versatile zooms like the XF70-300mmF4-5.6 R LM OIS WR encouraged, although a selection of Fujifilm cameras and lenses will be available on the day.
A free SD card will be available, although we recommend bringing your own as a spare. You can bring your own packed lunch however there is a café on site. Water, comfy shoes and weather appropriate clothing is essential.
You will learn about the techniques of photographing birds of prey which can be used to photograph species in the wild. In order to achieve professional-looking results, the correct camera settings are essential. Carl will also cover her own preferred camera settings and photographic techniques for this genre of photography.
Wildlife photography is just as much about fieldcraft as it is kit. You’ll be instructed on the nuances of approaching subjects, as well as how to position yourself and frame for beautiful photographs.
