Overview of the London photowalk
This photo walk is aimed at photography beginners and enthusiasts, though those who want to test out the range of equipment or enjoy a day out with our photography community are more than welcome!
With a lot of freedom to work at your own pace, Linda will help you navigate your way around and help you produce great images. There is less focus on in-depth tuition and genre theory, however, you do have the opportunity to talk directly to Linda who will be able to answer your specific photography queries.
This walk will take in some of the most iconic parts of London, including Leicester Square, Trafalgar Square, Embankment, Southbank and Queens Walk before heading to the Westminster Bridge to close the photo walk.
Who will be joining you?
Before we share the details of our London photo walk, let’s get to know more about the photography guide who will be accompanying you on our photo walk of The Big Smoke.
Linda Koolen
After studying photography in the Netherlands Linda Koolen packed her bags and moved to London. Inspiration for her photography comes from everyday life and the people surrounding her in this vibrant city. However, she also travels into nature whenever she gets a chance.
In her free time, she mostly enjoys street and landscape photography, but she has a never-ending curiosity for everything photography-related. Her passion for sharing her knowledge with others has resulted in her joining the Fujifilm family and she can't wait for you to join along the way!
What will you learn?
After an initial refresh on basic camera settings, Linda will move on to explain valuable exposure techniques — including exposure settings, composition, and how to manipulate the highlights and shadows.
These will include tips for street photography, black and white photography, composition, and how to anticipate a compelling story to freeze the moment in time.
As ever, light and exposure are crucial, so they will receive due time and attention as the day progresses. You’ll receive different photo briefs throughout the day to help you experiment with camera settings and photographic techniques.
