Book your place onto our latest photography workshop, covering all you need to know about commercial photography, family photography, and wedding photoshoots.
Before we share the details of what you’ll get up to in this event for photographers in London, let’s get to know more about the photography guide who will be accompanying you throughout this exciting event.
Emily Renier
Emily is one of our official FUJIFILM Ambassadors. She’s a wedding and family photographer who infuses her passion for street and documentary photography into her work. She picked up her first FUJIFILM camera in 2018 and has since — very rapidly — developed a successful business in wedding and family photography.
Although Emily's authentic style is rooted in capturing candid moments, she also values flexibility, drawing inspiration from numerous photographic genres and the individuality of her clients. While her camera preserves these fleeting moments, Emily's perspective is emotional and personal, bridging the space between her lens and her subjects artistically and empathetically.
While the excitement of wedding photography continues to ignite Emily's passion, documenting family life over time is as profoundly rewarding for her. She's honoured to have been commissioned for year-long family projects, resulting in, what she believes, is some of her strongest work.
If you’re interested in attending our photography workshop with Emily Renier, you will find all the information you need to join us at this exciting event below.
Location: Fujifilm School, House of Photography, London
Meeting point: Studio, Basement
Date: 15th November 2024
Time: 11:30 am – 5:30 pm
Price: £199.00
This workshop is aimed at aspiring documentary and street photographers of an intermediate level.
While comprehensive training and guidance will be provided on the day, it would be useful if all attendees had a basic understanding of the exposure triangle – aperture, shutter speeds and ISO
Please aim to arrive 15 minutes before your session time.
11:30: Arrival and introductions
11:45: Emily will introduce herself and give an insight into her documentary photography work.
12:00: You’ll be introduced to understanding storytelling, what “documentary photography” is and appreciating the effect that direction can have on your images. You’ll also take a look at a typical wedding and family shoot, with an overview of Emily’s workflow, and how she approaches the shoot both before and on the day.
14:00: Break for lunch
14:45: In the afternoon, you’ll tackle the aftermath of a shoot. Emily will run through her culling and post-processing methods, as well as what she does to look after her mental health during busy periods (or completely quiet ones!).
15:00: You’ll go back over the key concepts of storytelling and how that informs what and how you deliver your images as photographers.
The next step of the day is to discuss client gallery delivery. Emily will explain her methods, what she delivers, and in which order. You’ll also gain some insight into slideshow making.
16:30: Finally, Emily will take you through how to design an album from start to finish and explain why she includes prints in every client package she sells.
17:30: Workshop recap and final Q&A
You’re welcome to bring your own set-up, although a selection of the latest FUJIFILM cameras and lenses will be available on the day. This workshop is more weighted towards theory as Emily will be sharing her processes, tips, tricks and insights into her workflow.
